Shayla

Dental Assistant

Shayla is a Dental Assistant at Palm Family Dentistry. She handles chairside assisting, takes X-rays, prepares treatment rooms and materials, manages sterilization, takes impressions, and cares for patients throughout their visit. Her presence helps patients feel comfortable and keeps procedures organized and running smoothly for the dental team.

Shayla trained at Accelerated Academy in Metairie, Louisiana, and has worked in dentistry since 2025. Palm Family Dentistry is the only practice she has worked for.

She joined the dental field because she wanted a career where she could work with people, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference in people's lives. Her favorite part of the job is helping patients feel comfortable and watching their confidence grow throughout their treatment. She loves that her patients and coworkers feel like family, and she enjoys getting to know everyone she cares for and works with. To Shayla, being part of a team that truly cares about each other is what makes the job special.

In her spare time, Shayla loves cooking, spending time outdoors on the water, working on her home, and taking care of her plants and pets. She also enjoys trying new things and making memories with the people she loves. Decorating is her favorite creative outlet. She is always finding little projects that make her space feel cozy, personal, and like a true home.

Here is a fun fact about Shayla: she has two cats named Romeo and Juliette.
